Aurora, CO, August 3, 2007 -- Barb Walker, known as the Computer
Lady, and local author of 3 how-to books on using a computer
has donated over 200 copies of her books to 2 local charities.
The non-profits, Denver Tech For All and G&S Mountain Recyclers,
donate working computers to seniors, young people, and non-profit
groups.
“I’m delighted to be able to get these books into
the hands of kids and seniors who can use them,” says
Walker. “Readers tell me these are the first computer
manuals beginners can actually understand, which was my purpose
in writing them. You shouldn’t need a degree to learn
to use a computer!”
Denver Tech for All (www.denvertechforall.org)
has donated over 200 computers (so far this year) to seniors
and young people. Rose Keating, founder, says the books are
a great addition to their services. “I believe
that Barb’s Taming Your Computer books will
give our families the confidence to really use their computers.”
Gary Cruson, CEO of G&S Mountain Recyclers (www.mountainrecyclers.com)
has donated over 100 computers (so far this year) to non-profit
groups. Among the recipients have been Goodwill Industries,
Denver Options, Family Tree, Imagine, and the MS Society. “Our
nonprofits need these computers for their clients. Being able
to add Barb’s instruction books is a great added value!”
